Greetings everyone! My name is Nadhifa Azzahra Tanjung, though most people call me Diva. Alhamdulillah, for the 2025/2026 academic year, I have been entrusted with the responsibility of serving as the Vice President of GIS English Club (GEC). In this article, I would like to share about one of our school’s signature programs, English Day, highlighting its activities, audience, and overall atmosphere.

What is English Day?

English Day is a school program designed to encourage students to actively use English in their daily lives, starting with communication. It is held weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Every Thursday, an assembly takes place, led either by GEC or by selected classes.

The Person in Charge (PIC), whether GEC or the assigned class, takes the lead in organizing and conducting the assembly. This responsibility not only helps them fulfill their tasks but also teaches valuable skills such as teamwork, effective communication, and thoughtful decision-making.

Activities and Atmosphere

For the audience, English Day is a chance to celebrate the use of English in a fun and interactive way. The assemblies feature a variety of activities, including:

• Games that spark excitement and teamwork
• Singing that brings joy and energy
• Drama performances that inspire creativity and self-expression

These activities encourage students to express themselves confidently and creatively, making the atmosphere lively and inspiring.

Personal Reflection

As someone who dislikes speaking in public, I have found great inspiration in watching others participate confidently in English Day assemblies. Their courage motivates me to become more confident and to express myself as clearly as they do. I hope others feel the same way—that these assemblies inspire more of our friends to be expressive and bold, especially in English.

The creativity of each assembly always surprises me, and I am curious to see what future concepts will look like. At the same time, I hope the audience continues to show respect, pay attention, and participate actively, since the PICs work hard to ensure everything runs smoothly.

English Day is more than just a program it is a platform for growth, inspiration, and community. It helps us build confidence, celebrate creativity, and strengthen our bond as students. I look forward to seeing how this program continues to evolve and inspire us all.
