 On Wednesday 29th April, Kelompok Ilmiah Remaja (KIR) Organization visited BRIN

(Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional). The visit of KIR to BRIN brings a lot of knowledge for all of us. We learned the function of a plane, UAV/Drone, and many more. We also got to experience what it felt like to be a pilot.

    The visit began with an opening session from BRIN staff, during this session we were introduced to the history, their drone launch attempt, and mini games. It was explained that BRIN is a government institution responsible for conducting research, developing technology, and supporting innovation in Indonesia.

After the introduction, the students were guided on a tour of several research facilities. We visited 3 buildings, the first building is the main office building, then in the second building they explained about how to make the composite of airplanes, and drone/UAV. in the last building they explained on how the airplanes works, and explained on various type of planes. One of the most interesting part is Q&A session, because that’s where our curiosity was answered, and it was also very useful for our scientific knowledge.

Through the visit, Kelompok Ilmiah Remaja’s (KIR) members gained knowledge into the world of research and innovation. It can also motivated them to be more active and excited in conducting scientific research. The experience helped them realize that science is not only about theory, but also about practice.
