Student Orientation Day had finally came to an end, to celebrate the end of this event, we had prepare a lot of things, starting from the assessment of GEMAS where new students show off their talents, until the closing ceremony where all of the new students got the chance to perform their talents in front of parents and teachers.

In the morning, we, who were the mentors of a group, all trained our group’s yel-yel. We asked them to give their most powerful voices to fill the yel-yel because the group who has the best yel-yel will get a reward.

After training our group, it is time to do the assessment of GEMAS. I’d say this is the most nervous session, because they are all practically competing against each other. The category of GEMAS was divided into 3 kinds. There were sports, art & music, and linguistics.

Moving to the final event of the day, was the closing ceremony of Student Orientation Day 2024. The closing was filled from the MC from the student mentors until the performance of all new students! Not to mention, that our principal read out the hopes and dreams that the student had hung on their plant.

We also had awards for those who excelled in ikrar, prayer, and tahsin. And, for the award everyone had been waiting for was the best participant of MPLS 2024! We are all incredibly proud of students.

And, to end this ceremony, there was a special performance from the student mentors. We started the performance with a little drama, then we headed onto our dance performance with the song “Pelajar Pancasila”. We dedicate this performance for all the students, and hoped that this performance was a sign for them to create a new beginning and fill their junior year with memories they can cherish forever, and to reach for the hopes and dream they had hung on the plan.
