After PAS or our examinations, Junior High GIS 2 Serpong held various class meeting activities. The school and several organizations such as GEC, KIR, OSIS, and PMR collaborated in creating the class meeting activities for junior high students. The organizations also got the chance to open their booths to sell products to practice their entrepreneurship activities. The class meeting’s agenda includes well-rounded activities incorporating health, sports, and academics relating to each organization’s vision and missions.. For example, we had football and basketball tournaments, a bring-your-bento to school day and a presentation on food health, a POT recycling, and we also had the Spelling Bee. On Monday, 11 December 2023, GEC (GIS English Club) was in charge of the class meeting activity which was the Spelling Bee.

But in case you didn’t know, what is a Spelling Bee?
A spelling bee is a competition where participants are asked to spell a selection of words, usually ranging from easy to difficult. How it works is that participants have to memorize how a work is spelled based on the dictionary and recite it correctly.
In this case, the Spelling Bee was held internally in the Junior High field, which means the participants were junior high students from classes 7A until 9D. The purpose of this Spelling Bee by GEC is to give students experience in joining Spelling Bees and to increase their ability with grammar and spelling, which all aligns with GEC’s visions and missions.
