Have you ever thought about taking a test that doesn’t test your individual score, but instead represents the learning quality of your entire school? That’s what ANBK or Asesmen Nasional Berbasis Komputer is designed for. It’s not just about answering questions by memorization, it’s about showing how well students across Indonesia are developing important skills like literacy, numeracy, and character.

In the weeks before ANBK was held, we did more than our usual learning. We had practice sessions, tried out sample questions, and had simulations run by the government so everyone knew how the program worked. It wasn’t the regular “memorize and repeat” exam preparation we were used to, it was more like a challenge where understanding mattered most.

When the two test days finally arrived, they were split into different focuses. The literacy section was about reading carefully, making connections, and understanding the meaning behind texts. It was less about memorizing the grammar behind sentences, and more about how we process information when given. On the other hand, the numeracy part tested our logical thinking and problem-solving skills. At firsthand, the questions looked tough, but once you broke them down step by step, they made a lot more sense.

But ANBK doesn’t stop at academics. Another important part is character survey, which asks students about their values, attitudes, and experiences at school. This helps reflect how well the school is building Profil Pelajar Pancasila, things such as tolerance amongst friends and cooperation with teachers or other students. Finally, there’s the learning environment survey, which collects feedback on how schools are supporting their students. Together, these three parts create the full picture, not just of what students know, but also how schools keep on improving.

For me, ANBK feels different from regular exams. It doesn’t grade students or put pressure on who can get the highest score. Instead, it gives us the chance to show our potential, while reminding us that education is more than grades. I realized that skills like critical thinking and even things as simple as reading the whole text and understanding it are just as important as formulas or vocabulary.

In the end, ANBK might only be for two days, but its purpose goes beyond that short time. It’s a way to prepare for the bigger challenges in life, not just in school. By participating, we’re not only representing ourselves, we’re contributing to the growth of GIS 2 Serpong, the development of Indonesia’s overall education, and the future generation of Indonesia.
